4. Remove the heat sink.
NOTE: Set the heat sink upside down on the work surface to avoid contaminating the thermal grease.

1. Replace the heat sink(s) and processor(s).

Removing a processor

CAUTION: Never remove the heat sink from a processor unless you intend to remove the processor. The heat
sink is necessary to maintain proper thermal conditions.
NOTE: The processor and heat sink can become extremely hot. Be sure that the processor has had sufficient time to cool
before handling.
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in safety instructions section.
2. Keep the Phillips #2 screwdriver ready.
3. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
