NOTE: Do not block the front or back air vents. The switch must have clear access to
ambient air for cooling.
Power Requirements
Switch power connection is via a switched connector on the switchs front right side,
as shown in Figure 1-1. The PowerVault 51F switch power requirements are as
follows:
Properly wired, grounded outlet
Input voltage: 90–257 volts alternating current (VAC)
Total power: Up to 110 watts (depending on configuration; see Appendix A,
“Specifications” in the Users Guide)
Input line frequency: 50 to 60 hertz (Hz)
The switch has an autoranging power supply that automatically accepts voltages
within its ranges.

NOTE: The switch meets International Electronic Commission (IEC) 801-5 surge volt-
age requirements; however, there is no other provision for surge protection built into
the switchs power supplies. An installation should include normal provisions to
assure clean power.
