CHAPTER 4
System Management
This chapter provides information about system management for your PowerVault
735N appliance. The following topics are discussed:
Dell OpenManage Remote Assistant Card 2 (DRAC 2)
Alert log messages from Dell OpenManage Server Agent
Configuring SNMP community properties
Configuring SNMP agent properties
Dell OpenManage Remote Assistant Card
The DRAC 2 is an optional server management card designed to provide remote man-

and monitor a system through a modem or network connection, even when the sys-
tem itself is down.
If you purchased a DRAC 2 with your PowerVault 735N system, you will need to install
the DRAC software as outlined in this chapter.
After the server software has been installed, you will need to install the DRAC Web
Client software on the system that you plan to use as the DRAC client. This software
is included on the
Dell PowerVault 735N Resource
CD. See the DRAC documentation
on the
Dell PowerVault 735N Resource
CD for more information on how to install the
DRAC Web Client software.
The DRAC 2 must already be installed in your system. See the
Dell OpenManage
Remote Assistant Card Version 2.3 (DRAC 2) User's Guide
on the
Dell PowerVault
735N Resource
