EverytimeItrytodoa
directory listing from an
NFS client on the root of
a system volume, I get
an error message, usu-
ally Permission Denied.
The problem you will
experience has to do
with a System Volume
Information directory,
created by Microsoft
Index Server. The NFS
service does not have
access to this directory,
and returns an error to
the client when trying to
list its properties.This
issue only occurs when
sharing the root of a drive
letter.
Ignore this error. The Sys-
tem Volume Information
directory is not used by
NFS clients or your sys-
tem by default.
I cannot add a user with
thenameUserorUser1,
andsoon.
Creating users with
these names is not sup-
ported for security rea-
sons.
Do not create generic
user accounts beginning
with the user.
I have just changed the IP
address of my system
and now I cannot admin-
istrate it through Power-
Vault NAS Manager.
Although the IP address
changed, your local host
is still trying to communi-
cate with the system
using the old IP address.
Close Microsoft Internet
Explorer. Re-start the
PowerVault NAS Man-
ager.
In PowerVault NAS Man-
ager, Cancel doesn't
seem to cancel and I've
locked up the NAS Man-
ager.
Cancel does not dynami-
cally stop an update to
the system after OK
has been chosen. It
allows the system admin-
istrator to cancel an oper-
ation before confirming
it.
If an operation has been
performed in error, the
system administrator
must change the setting
back manually.
I see the following error
message in the event
log: WMI ADAP was
unable to load the
winspool.drv per-
formance library
due to an unknown
problem within the
library: 0x0.
This is an issue with the
WDAP Performance
library and is docu-
mented on Microsofts
Web site.
Connect to the system
via Terminal Services
Advanced Client and
open a local command
prompt. Enter the follow-
ing: WINMGMT/
CLEARADAP.Whenthe
prompt returns, enter
WINMGMT/RESYN-
CPERF winmgmt ser-
vice PID.
I cannot change the
default Welcome and exit
message for FTP shares.
The default welcome and
exit messages for FTP
can only be modified
through Term i na l S er -
vices Advanced Client.
Connect to the system
using Terminal Services
Advanced Client and
make changes through
Microsoft Management
Console.
