4. Right-click WMIDataCollectorProvider and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
5. Enter LogLevel for the name.
6. Right-click on the new entry and select Modify…
7. Enter a value and click OK.
Value settings are:
- 0: Errors only (default)
- 1: Information and errors
- 2: Trace (including information and errors)
Changes to the log level require the WMI Provider to be reloaded. When the SCOM agent is
running, The WMI Provider is reloaded automatically approximately every 5 minutes.
6.3 Event viewer logs
If any trouble is experienced with SCOM, another place to look for problems is in the Event Viewer.
Windows, SCOM, Enterprise Manager and the WMI Provider all log information and errors to the Event
Viewer.
1. Launch the Event Viewer by going to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event
Viewer.
2. SCOM records to the Operations Manager log under the Applications and Services Logs.
