9.3 Configuring the Microsoft iSCSI initiator
By default, iSCSI boot from SAN may not reconnect on all paths after a failure on one of the NICs. For
example, if one of the cable connections is disconnected and reconnected, the redundant iSCSI
connection to the volume may not reconnect automatically. This section describes how to properly
configure the Microsoft iSCSI initiator to automatically re-establish connections after a failure.
Configure the system using the following steps.
1. Open iSCSI Initiator from the start menu. Click on the Discovery tab ->Discover Portal. Enter the
IP address or DSN name of the EQL group and enter 3260 as the port. Click OK.
2. Close the iSCSI Initiator menu by clicking OK.
