Cold Weather Operation
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn unit off and remove air supply before
making any adjustments or removing/installing
attachments or accessories. An accidental
actuation can causeinjury.
WARNING: Do not store tools in a cold weather
environment to prevent frost or ice formation on the
tools operating valves and mechanisms that could
cause toolfailure.
WARNING: Some commercial air line drying
liquids are harmful to “O”‑rings and seals–do
not use these low temperature air dryers without
checkingcompatibility.
When operating tools at temperatures below freezing:
1. Make sure compressor tanks have been properly
drained prior touse.
2. Keep tool as warm as possible prior touse.
3. Make certain all fasteners have been removed
frommagazine.
4. Lower air pressure to 80 p.s.i.g. (5.7 kg/cm
2
) orless.
5. Reconnect air and and load nails intomagazine.
6. Turn pressure up to operating level (not to exceed
120p.s.i.g. [8.5 kg/cm
2
]) and use tool asnormal.
7. Always drain the compressor tanks at least once aday.
Hot Weather Operation
Tool should operate normally. However, keep tool out
of direct sunlight as excessive heat can deteriorate
bumpers, o-rings and other rubber parts resulting in
increasedmaintenance.

Tool Operation Check (Fig. A)
WARNING: Remove all fasteners from tool before
performing tool operationcheck.
Contact Trip Operation
1. With finger off the trigger, press the contact trip

against the work surface. THE TOOL MUST NOTCYCLE.
2. Hold the tool off the work surface, and pull the trigger.
THE TOOL MUST NOTCYCLE.
3. With the tool off the work surface, pull the trigger. Press
the contact trip against the work surface. THE TOOL
MUSTCYCLE.
4. Without touching the trigger, press the contact trip
against the work surface, then pull the trigger. THE
TOOL MUSTCYCLE.
Sequential Trip Operation
1. Press the contact trip against the work surface, without
touching the trigger. THE TOOL MUST NOTCYCLE.
2. Hold the tool off the work surface and pull the trigger.
THE TOOL MUST NOT CYCLE. Release the trigger. The
trigger must return to the trigger stop on theframe.
3. Pull the trigger and press the contact trip against the
work surface. THE TOOL MUST NOTCYCLE.
4. With finger off the trigger, press the contact trip
against the work surface. Pull the trigger. THE TOOL
MUSTCYCLE.
