8.2 Troubleshooting
Table 8-2 shows some potential problems that might arise while using your scale, their possible causes, and the
corrective action that can be taken to resolve them.

Error Message Possible Causes Corrective Action
The scale does not power on. The main switch on the bottom of the scale
is off.
Turn on the main switch.
The AC cord is not completely plugged in. Push the connector for the AC cord firmly
into its socket.
The fuse is burned out. Replace the fuse.
When pressing the TARE key a
beep sounds indicating an error
and the entry is refused.
The scale is unstable. Check that the Stable indicator lamp is on
before pressing the TARE key. If the scale
is having difficulty maintaining a stable
weight reading, check to see whether it is
in a place where it is being affected by air
movements. Also make sure that the scale
is on a stable sureface. Move the scale to
another location if necessary.
When pressing the PCS key
while carrying out a sampling
operation, a beep sounds
indicating an error and the
operation terminates.
The scale is unstable. Check that the Stable indicator lamp is on
before pressing the PCS key. The scale
will reject the sampling operation if the
scale is unstable for 3 seconds after
pressing the PCS key. If the scale is
having difficulty maintaining a stable weight
reading, check to see whether it is in a
place where it is being affected by air
movements. Also make sure that the
scale is on a stable surface. Move the
scale to another location if necessary.
