Answering Machine (730R only)
Outgoing message
The outgoing message is your message that plays when there is an incoming call. If you do
not record your own outgoing message, the caller will hear a prerecorded message in English.
There are two separate outgoing messages, one for the answer only (callers cannot leave
a message) and one for normal answering function. Your outgoing message may be up to 3
minutes long. Please note the longer the outgoing message, the greater the reduction in
memory capacity to store incoming messages.
An example of an outgoing message:
-“Hello and welcome to the Andersons. We can’t get to the phone right now, but please
leave a message at the sound of the beep, and we’ll return your call as soon as possible.
Thanks for calling.”

5. Release the button to stop recording.
6. The message will be repeated after a few seconds. Repeat the same procedure if you
want to change the message. Any previous outgoing message will be automatically
erased when a new one is recorded.

Number of ring signals
You can select the number of ring signals before the answering machine is activated (2-9,
time saver*).
1. Press
9 9
. The voice will state the current setting.
2. Press and hold
9 9
until you hear the required setting.
3. The setting is saved after a few seconds.
The Time Saver function answers calls after six ring signals until the rst new message has been registered (with the
exception of mailbox messages) then the answering machine is activated after approximately two signals. This is useful
when using remote control; if you call up the answering machine and there is no reply after four rings that means there
are no messages recorded and you can hang up before you are charged for the call. If however the machine does answer
after two rings, there are new messages.
