You may avoid inconvenience and service calls by checking these points before you call for service:

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
Do not try to light any appliance.
Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any
phone in your building.
[mmediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor's
phone. Follow the gas supplier's instructions.
If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire
department.
Thermostat is not set correctly Reset thermostat
Burner is not operating properly
Check flame. If it is yellow, the burner is not getting enough air. Or, if
flame is blue and noisy and seems to lift off the burner the burner is
getting too much air. Contact your service technician.
Check over-current protection. Check to be sure electric power supply
No electric power to boiler
circuit is "ON".
Controls out of adjustment Reset according to instructions.
Radiators not heating Open radiator vents to excess air. Check flow control valve (if used). It
may be in closed position.
Circulating pump not running Check over-current protection. Check relay operation.
Poor electrical contact Check all control terminals and wire joints.
Pressure switch will not close and pilot spark will not operate to start
Chimney flue is blocked
pilot. Have your service technician check and correct, if necessary.
Rollout switch blown
Gas input amount is incorrect
Have your service technician check heat exchanger for blockage. Replace
rollout switch with exact replacement.
Contact your service technician.
Dirt on seat
Water logged expansion tank
Open valve manually. Allow water to run and clear valve seat.
Drain tank, see manufacturer instructions.
