On a pitched roof, install the Flashing
with the upper edge under the
existing roong material. Center the
Flashing over the roof framing. Then
seal and nail the Flashing into place
along the upper edge and down
each side with 1" roong nails. Do not
nail the lower edge of the Flashing.
Seal the top and upper sides of the
Flashing, and all exposed nail heads
with roong compound or sealant.
On a at roof, nail and seal the
Flashing on all sides with roong
compound. Do not put screws
through the Flashing into the vent
pipe. Follow all local building practices
as needed.
Vertical Concentric (Fig.27)
1. Locate the penetration in the roof
(
Fig.25)
. Measure the intended path of the
installation and make sure you have all the
necessary components to complete the
install.
2. Cut and frame the roof penetration
following the dimensions in Table 3. Make
sure no debris falls into the appliance
intake or outlet.
3. Use the appropriate roof ashing for
the roof type. On a pitched roof, use the
Adjustable Flashing for 0/12 to 5/12 pitch
and the Steep Roof Flashing for 5/12 to
12/12 pitched roofs. On a at roof, use the
aluminum Flat Roof Flashing.
