Owner’ s Manual WARNING CONSIDERING HANDLING OF FUEL a. The engine of this product is designed to run on a mixed fuel which contains highly flammable gasoline. Never store cans of fuel or refill the fuel tank in any place where here is a boiler, stove, wood fire, electrical sparks, welding sparks, or any other source of heat or fire which might ignite the fuel. b. Smoking while operating the product or refilling its fuel tank is extremely dangerous.
OWNER’ S MANUAL WHEN OPERATING THE ENGINE a. Keep the handles dry, clean, and free of oil or fuel mixture. b. Never touch the muffler, spark plug, or other metal parts of the engine while the engine is in operation or immediately after stopping the engine. Doing so could result in serious burns or electrical shock. c. Use extreme caution when cutting small size brush and saplings because slender material may catch in the saw chain and be whipped toward you or pull you off balance. d.
OWNER’ S MANUAL 5.INSTALLING GUIDE BAR AND SAW CHAIN A standard saw unit package contains the items as illustrated (1) power unit (2) Bar protector (3) Guide bar (4) Saw chain (5) Plug wrench (6) Hexagon wrench Open the box and install the guide bar and the saw chain on the power unit as follows: a. Loosen the nuts and remove the chain cover. b. Gear the chain to the sprocket, while fitting the saw chain around the guide bar, mount the guide bar to the power unit.
OWNER’ S MANUAL 6.FUEL AND CHAIN OIL FUEL △ WARNING ! a. Gasoline is very flammable. Avoid smoking or bringing any flame or sparks near fuel. Make sure to stop the engine and allow it cool before refueling the unit. Select outdoor bare ground for fueling and move at least 3m away from the fueling point before starting the engine. b. Please use an anti-oxidant added quality oil expressly labeled for air-cooled 2-cycle engine use. (JASO FCGRAD OIL or ISO EGCGRADE) c.
Owner’ s Manual FUELING THE UNIT a. Untwist and remove the fuel cap. Rest the cap on a dustless place. b. Put fuel into the fuel tank to 80% of the full capacity. c. Fasten the fuel cap securely and wipe up any fuel spillage around the unit. △ WARNING ! a. Move at least 10feet (3meters) away from the fueling point before starting the engine. b. Stop the engine before refueling the sufficiently agitate the mixed gasoline in the container. FOR YOUR ENGINE LIFE, AVOID: a.
Owner’ s Manual 7. OPERATING Starting the engine 1. Fill fuel and chain oil tanks respectively and tighten the caps securely. 2. Put the switch to “I” position. 3. Push the choke knob upward. The choke will close and the throttle lever will then be set in the starting position. ⑴ Chain oil ⑵ Fuel ⑶ Switch ⑷ throttle lever ⑸ Throttle interlock ⑹ Choke knob (2) (1) Note When restarting immediately after stopping the engine, leave the choke knob at the open position.
Owner’ s Manual ADJUSTING CARBURETOR The carburetor on your unit has been adjusted by the factory, but may require fine turning due to change in operating conditions. Before adjusting the carburetor, make sure that provided are clean air/fuel filters and fresh, properly mixed fuel. When adjusting, take the following steps. a. Stop engine and screw in both H and L needles until they stop. Never force. Then set them back the initial number (2) of turns as show below.
OWNER’ S MANUAL 8.SAWING △ WARNING ! a. b. It is not necessary to force the saw into the cut. Apply only light pressure while running the engine at full throttle. When the saw chain is caught in the cut, do not attempt to pull it out by force, but use a wedge or a lever to open the way. GUARD AGAINST KICKBACK This saw is equipped with a chain brake that will stop the chain in the event of kickback if operating properly.
OWNER’ S MANUAL Bucking and Limbing △ WARNING ! a. Always ensure your foothold. Do not stand on the log. b. Be alert to the rolling over of a cut log. Especially when working on a slope, stand on the uphill side of the log. c. Follow the instructions in this manual to avoid kickback of the saw. A log lying on the ground Saw down halfway, then roll the log over and cut from the opposite side.
OWNER’ S MANUAL 9.MAINTENANCE △ WARNING ! Before cleaning, inspecting or repairing your unit, make sure that engine has stopped and is cool. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting. MAINTENANCE AFTER EACH USE a. Air Filter To clean dirt in the meshes, split the cleaner into halves and brush in gasoline. When using compressed air, blow from the inside. b. Oiling port Dismount the guide bar and check the oiling port for clogging. (1) Oiling port c.
Owner’ s Manual SERVICE POINTS a. Cylinder fins Dust clogging between the cylinder fins will cause over heating of the engine. Periodically check and clean the cylinder fins after removing the air cleaner and the cylinder cover. Cylinder fins Note Be sure to block the air intake hole. b. Fuel filter a. Using a wire hook, take out the filter from the filler port. b. Disassemble the filter and wash with gasoline.
OWNER’S MANUAL 10. MAINTENCE OF SAW CHAIN AND GUIDE BAR △ WARNING ! It is very important for smooth and safe operation to keep the cutters always sharp. a. Your cutters need to be sharpened when: Sawdust becomes powdery/fine. You need extra force to saw in. The cut line does not go straight. Vibration increases. Fuel consumption increases. b. Cutter setting standards: Make sure the saw chain is held securely. Make sure the engine is stopped. Use a round file of proper size for your chain.

STORAGE If the chain saw isn’t going to be used for a long time, maintain as follows: 1) Remove the fuel, the chain oil in the tank, and in the carburetor. 2) Take off the spark plug, add a small amount of oil down the spark plug hole into the cylinder, and pull the starter 2~3 times to move the piston to the top dead center, then replace the spark plug.
