Lighting The Griddle
Before rst use:
Remove all hangings or plastic straps, if present. Before you cook on your new gas griddle, it is important
to clean your griddle with heat. To do this, operate the griddle for approximately 15 minutes with the con-
trol knob in the highest position. This will clean the internal parts by burning off any residue
and odor from the manufacturing process.
WARNING
Do not lean over griddle when lighting. Read instructions before lighting.
CAUTION
If the ame extinguishes accidentally during ignition or operation, immediately TURN OFF the
control knob.
1. Check that the control knob are in the
O OFF position.
2. Make sure the gas cylinder is connected to the regulator assembly properly.
3. Depress and turn control knob counterclockwise from off position, past the ignite position, to the
( ) high position. You may need to repeat several times to ignite the burner.
If ignition does not occur in 5 seconds, turn the control(s) off, O wait 5 minutes, and repeat the lighting
procedure.
If the burner still does not light, check that there is gas in the cylinder and follow the match lighting
instructions. Check the Troubleshooting Guide on page 16 for more information.
LIGHTING THE GRIDDLE WITH A MATCH
1. Check that the control knob is in the OFF O position.
2. Remove griddle top.
3. Light an 11 in. long match.
4. Carefully place the lit match near the burner ports.
5. Press in the control knob and rotate counter-clockwise to ( ) High
position and burner should light immediately.
6. Re-install griddle top. Caution: Make sure control knob is set to lowest ame position ( ) and wear
heat resistant gloves while re-installing griddle top.
7. Adjust burners to desired cooking settings.
