7. BRAKES
WARNING: When assembling or adjusting the
brakes, make sure the cable anchor nut is tight. Failure to
securely tighten the nut could result in brake failure and
personal injury (see Figure 31).
7A. Side Pull Brakes
After installing the front wheel, loosen the cable
anchor nut and pull the brake cable through it.
Squeeze the brake arms together against the rim
of the wheel. While still holding the brake arms, pull
the cable firmly through the cable anchor nut and
tighten the nut securely (see Figures 30 & 31). To
fine tune your brakes, see the adjustment section on
pages 35-37.
7B. Linear Pull Brakes
After installing the front wheel, re-connect the front
brake by squeezing the arms together, and sliding
the cable guide back into the carrier (see Figures 32
& 33).
