5. Firefighting Measures
Suitable (and Unsuitable) Extinguishing Media: Use any media that is suitable for the surrounding fire. Cool fire exposed
containers with water.
Specific Hazards Arising From the Chemical: Non-Flammable. Closed containers may rupture if exposed to extreme heat.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Firefighters should wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and full
protective clothing for fires in areas where chemicals are used or stored.
6: Accidental Release Measures
Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment, and Emergency Procedures: Avoid contact with eyes. Wear appropriate
protective clothing and equipment as described in Section 8.
Methods and Materials for Containment / Cleanup: Absorb with an inert material. Collect into a suitable container for
disposal. Rinse area with water. Prevent entry in storm sewers and waterways. Report spill as required by local and national
regulations.
7. Handling and Storage
Precautions for Safe Handling: Avoid contact with eyes. Use only with appropriate protective equipment. Wash hands after
use.
Conditions for Safe Storage, Including Any Incompatibilities:
Protect containers from physical damage. Store in a cool, well-ventilated area away from strong oxidizers, strong acids and
bases; and other incompatible materials. Keep out of the reach of children.

Appropriate Engineering Controls: General ventilation should be adequate for normal use.
Personal Protective Equipment
Respiratory Protection: None required under normal use conditions. If exposures are excessive or irritation is experienced,
wear an approved particulate respirator. Selection of respiratory protection depends on the contaminant type, form and
concentration. Select and use in accordance with all applicable regulations (in the US follow OSHA 1910.134) and good
Industrial Hygiene practice.
Gloves: None required under normal use conditions.
Eye Protection: Chemical goggles or safety glasses with side shields recommended to avoid eye contact.
Other Protective Equipment/Clothing: Appropriate protective clothing as needed to minimize skin contact.
