OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS LID DISASSEMBLY/INSTALLATION This slow cooker allows you to remove the locking lid for easy serving and cleaning. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fires or other injury to persons or damage to property. Always use oven mitts or pot holders when opening the lid. Keep face away from the unit as hot steam will escape once the lid is opened. 11. Allow a few seconds for all steam to escape once the lid is opened. If more cooking time is desired, close and lock lid and reset for desired cooking time.
TIPS FOR SLOW COOKING (CONT.) Suitable Foods for Slow Cooking & Preparation Most foods are suited to slow cooking methods; however there are a few guidelines that need to be followed. • • • • • • • • • • • • Cut root vegetables into small, even pieces, as they take longer to cook than meat. They should be gently sautéed for 2-3 minutes before slow cooking. Ensure that root vegetables are always placed at the bottom of the ceramic pot and all ingredients are immersed in the cooking liquid.

CAUTION: Never immerse the main metal housing in water or any other liquid. To clean the housing and control panel, simply wipe with a clean damp cloth and dry before storing.
