Lenses for Imaging
High-quality special lenses are needed in the image processing,
quality assurance, production monitoring, process automation,
metrology and identication elds. The key differentiations from
normal lenses are:
Low distortion
High resolution
Improved image properties for air and contrast
characteristics
Compact design
Fixing screws on the aperture and focus rings to ensure
trouble-free usage even in the presence of vibrations
and shaking.
The lenses are split into two categories to draw a simple
distinction:
1. High-Resolution Lenses
For use on high-resolution cameras (> 400,000 pixels)
2. Megapixel Lenses
For use on super high-resol. cameras (> 1.3 million pixels)
Minimum Focusing Distance
The denition of the minimum focusing distance is the distance
from the object to the tip of the lens, for which a focus ring can be
used to make the object sharp (“close” setting).
Adapter rings (such as the Macro-Tubes) can be tted to reduce
the minimum focusing distance even further, to a limited extent.
