OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
EMPTYING THE IRON
1. Always empty iron after each use.
2. When finished using the iron, turn
the variable steam control to “0” and
press the electronic temperature
control button until the power light is
lit.
3. Unplug the iron from the electrical
outlet.
4. Turn the iron upside down over the
sink with the tip pointing downward
and allow the water to flow from the
opening.
5. Place iron upright and allow to cool
before storing.

SELF CLEANING
It is important to “Self Clean” the iron at
least every two weeks to remove scale,
calcium, etc. The harder the water, the
more often the iron should be self
cleaned.
1. Set the variable steam control to any
steam position.
2. Fill the water tank up to the “MAX”
level.
3. Stand the iron on its heel. Plug the
iron into the electrical outlet.
4. Press the electronic temperature
control button until you get the
“MAX” temperature setting on the
display panel and wait until the iron
heats up and temperature setting
light stops flashing.
5. Turn the variable steam control all
the way to the right to the self-
cleaning position and hold the iron
horizontally over the sink. (Fig. 7)
6. Boiling water and steam will now be
ejected from the holes in the
soleplate. Use caution when doing
this as the water and the steam
are hot enough to cause burns.
The impurities and scale are washed
away with it.
7. Move the iron back and forth as this
happens.
8. If there is any water left in the water
tank after the iron stops steaming,
just empty the remaining water in a
sink following the instructions for
emptying the iron.
9. Turn the variable steam control to
the “0” position when the water tank
is empty.
10.Place the iron back upright on its
heel to cool down before storing.

Lisez toujours les étiquettes des
vêtements et suivez les instructions de
repassage du fabricant. Consultez le
« Tableau de repassage » de la page 31
pour obtenir des recommandations:
• Utilisez les réglages bas pour le nylon
et les autres tissus synthétiques.
•• Utilisez les réglages moyens pour la
laine, la soie et les mélanges.
••• Utilisez les réglages élevés pour le
coton et le lin.
1. Placez le fer à la verticale sur son
talon.
2. Branchez le cordon sur une fiche
électrique polarisée de 120 V CA.
3. Appuyez sur le bouton de commande
de température électronique pour
choisir le réglage de tissu/la
température.
4. Le voyant à droite de l'affichage DEL
cesse de clignoter lorsque la
température désirée est atteinte.

CONSEILS DE REPASSAGE
AVERTISSEMENT: Pour prévenir
les incendies, ne laissez pas le fer
sans surveillance lorsqu'il est
branché.
• Triez les articles à repasser selon le
type de tissu. Vous réduirez ainsi
les ajustements de température
nécessaires pour effectuer votre
repassage.
• Si vous ne connaissez pas le type
de tissu d'un article, testez-le en
repassant une petite partie non
visible, comme une couture ou un
rebord interne, avant de repasser
une partie visible. Débutez le
repassage au réglage le plus bas,
puis ajustez graduellement jusqu'au
réglage optimal.
• Lorsque vous réduisez la
température pour des tissus
délicats, patientez environ 2 minutes
pour que le fer puisse refroidir et
atteindre le nouveau réglage de
température.
• Pour prévenir la brillance, recouvrez
les tissus tels que le velours, la
laine, le lin et la soie avec un linge
avant de les repasser.
AUTO SHUT-OFF
The Rapido Electronic Iron is
equipped with an electronic auto-off.
The electronic auto-off switches the
iron off if it has been left standing
unmoved in any position (sideways, flat
or upright) for approximately 7-9
minutes. A red light on the LED
display panel will flash when the iron
switches itself off. (Fig. 6) To switch
the iron back on, hold the iron
horizontally in front of you, gently rock
the iron back and forth several times
until the “Power ON” light is re-
illuminated. Then re-set the
temperature to the desired setting.
DO NOT SHAKE THE IRON.
Note: The iron may require additional
warm-up time if the auto-off feature
was activated for an extended period.
CAUTION: Use caution when
emptying the iron. Burns may occur
from touching hot metal surfaces, hot
water or steam.
