Location Based Services

Use Location Based Services (LBS) to customize how frequently devices within speciﬁc locations are

performing RF scans. For example, you may want to use a short frequency such as seconds to track

high priority client devices, but use a lower frequency for tracking APs. For each device type, you will

need to create and assign an LBS proﬁle.

Note

A Proximity and Analytics license is required to access Location Based Services,

Location Based Services Proﬁles

The LBS proﬁle provides information that allows AirDefense to track devices by location. To manage

your LBS proﬁles, go to Conﬁguration > Operational Management > Location Based Services to

display the LBS screen.

Add a New LBS Proﬁle

From the Location Based Services Proﬁle screen, click the New Template button to add a new proﬁle.

Enter the name for this new proﬁle in the Location Based Services Proﬁle ﬁeld.
