Appliance Settings
Use the Appliance Settings screen to configure settings specific to this instance of the Extreme
AirDefense appliance. An appliance is the physical device on which the Extreme AirDefense software
runs. These settings are global in nature and apply to all networks managed by this Extreme AirDefense
instance.
The following Extreme AirDefense appliance settings can be configured from this screen.
Field Description
Port Set the port on which the Extreme AirDefense user interface is
available.
This setting configures the system port to access the Extreme
AirDefense graphical user interface.
Enter a port number that is available for use. Choose a port number
in the range 1024-65000. The default port is 8543.
Note: Extreme AirDefense will not allow you to choose a port that is
already in use.
Mail Relay Server Define the mail relay host. Enter an IP address or a fully-qualified
host name.
The mail relay host is a mail server that forwards all mails received
from Extreme AirDefense to their intended recipients.
