Relay Server
Relay servers are devices in your network from which devices obtain configuration, firmware, and
provisioning information.
Note
Relay server is an option that is available with the WLAN Management license. This option
does not appear if you do not have the above license.

Extreme AirDefense provides the ability to define both an external and an internal relay server. The
Extreme AirDefense appliance can itself act as a relay server (internal relay server) for all the devices in
its managed network.
It is recommended that relay servers are configured at the appliance level of the network hierarchy.
To configure a dierent relay server to a particular scope (location), select the context from the
Structure & Tags area. If the relay servers for this level are inherited from its parent, change the
control to Override. Configure a dierent relay server to enable it for the
selected context.
Configure External Relay Server
Configure the following information for the external relay server:
Field Description
Host The host name of the external relay server. You can also enter the IP
address of the server.
Protocol Select the protocol to use when accessing the relay server. Select

SFTP
SCP
HTTP
HTTPS
