The first time you fill the salt
container, you must:
Pour in the salt but do not
fill the container to the top.
Top it up with water.
Stir with a spoon.
Close the lid tight and clean
the salt around the
container.
When the salt container needs
filling, you should always do it
before a wash and not af-
terwards.
When does the salt need
refilling?
A pilot light will come on to show
when more salt needs to be
added.

Where to put the salt
The dishwasher has a salt
container in the bottom of the
tub.

You should not use salt if your dishwasher does not
need it.
IMPORTANT
Remember: You must
adjust the salt dial
position according to the
result of the water hardness
test. See the table on the
page 60.

Press the Short Wash button
and hold it down for three
seconds. The hard water pilot
light will come on (fig. 1).
Then press the Short Wash
button again to select the
water hardness. Each time you
press the button, the
corresponding pilot light will
come on (fig. 1).

Important:
If your dishwasher
does not have a display or
pilot light, you should
periodically refill the salt
that has been used (about
every 20 washes for
medium-hard water).
