6.6 Electrical installation
Warning
The maximum operating temperature of the linear axis is 70 °C. If the operat-
ing temperature is higher than this, there is a danger of burning and the mo-
tor could be destroyed.
Always connect up the temperature sensor to avoid injuries to people or
damage to the linear axis.
Warning
The displacement encoder can be damaged by direct electro-static discharges
onto its pins (if the plug connector is open). When connecting, therefore,
make sure that the environment is ESD protected and that the earthing is suf-
ficient for both material and persons.
Note
Strong magnetic fields in the immediate vicinity of the linear axis can cause
the magnetically coded measuring tape to lose its properties.
• Make sure that the linear axis is screened against strong electromagnetic
interference.
• Avoid external influence caused by magnetic or ferritic parts in the vicinity
of the reference switch and the sensor displacement encoder.
Note
Take into account the warnings and instructions on fitting the electric compo-
nents (e.g. for the EMERGENCY STOP circuit) in the manual for the controller.
Instructions on protecting the end positions against uncontrolled overrunning:
• Take into consideration the fact that software end positions must be set in
the controller.
• Make sure that the controller is switched off. It is not sufficient just to can-
cel the enable signal to the controller.
• Connect the linear axis completely to the controller.
