FC-Series De-Ice Kit

Installation Guide

Caution!

The de-ice kit improves the camera’s de-icing capability, which results in a slight

reduction in thermal sensor sensitivity. It should only be installed during the winter

and in places where it is cold enough for ice to likely accumulate.

Do not smudge or leave finger prints on the de-ice kit or on the camera lens.

Handle only the de-ice kit’s windowed ring, the factory-installed unwindowed ring

on the camera lens, and the O-ring at the bottom of the threaded inside rim of the

camera lens.

Step 1 Turn on the heaters using the camera’s web page:

a. Log in to the camera’s web page as expert or admin.

b. In the Maintenance menu, browse to Sensor > Devices >

Thermostat. The camera firmware version must be V2.03.P06 or

later. For information about upgrading the camera’s firmware, see

the FC-Series O/ID Installation Manual.

Except as described in this guide, do not disassemble the FC-Series camera.

Damage to the camera can occur as the result of careless handling or

electrostatic discharge (ESD).

De-ice kits are available for FC-Series cameras with a 60 mm or a 75 mm lens.

Do not use these kits with any other camera or lens.

c. Enable the thermostat driver. Select Yes This enables rule 1, labeled DeIce. (Rule 0 is labeled DeFog.) d. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save. e. Restart the server: Click the green status button next to Server Running once to stop the server. After the server is stopped, click the button (now black) again to start the server.
