PART IDENTIFICATION CHART Use the drawings below to identify small parts used for assembly. The number in parentheses below each drawing is the key number of the part, from the PART LIST near the end of this manual. The number following the key number is the quantity used for assembly. Note: If a part is not in the hardware kit, check to see if it is preattached. Extra parts may be included.

Pull the Upright Wire (74) and the ground wire (A) through the indicated hole in the Base (90). 3 Attach the ground wire (A) to the Base (90) with a #8 x 1/2" Ground Screw (8). 85 Hole Press the Grommet (85) into the square hole in the Base (90). 74 A 8 4. Identify the Left Upright (76). Have a second person hold the Left Upright near the Base (90). 90 4 See the inset drawing. Tie the wire tie in the Left Upright (76) securely around the Upright Wire (74).
5. Hold the Left Upright (76) against the Base (90). Be careful not to pinch the Upright Wire (74) or the ground wire (A). Insert two 3/8" x 2 3/4" Screws (9) with two 3/8" Star Washers (12) and two 3/8" x 1 1/4" Screws (7) with two 3/8" Star Washers (12) into the Left Upright. 5 76 Partially tighten the 3/8" x 2 3/4" Screws (9) and the 3/8" x 1 1/4" Screws (7) until the heads of the Screws touch the Left Upright (76); do not fully tighten the Screws yet.
7. With the help of a second person, hold the console assembly near the Left Upright (76). 7 Connect the Upright Wire (74) to the console wire. See the inset drawing. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place. If they do not, turn one connector and try again. IF YOU DO NOT CONNECT THE CONNECTORS PROPERLY, THE CONSOLE MAY BECOME DAMAGED WHEN YOU TURN ON THE POWER. Then, remove the wire tie from the Upright Wire. 9. Insert the wires into the Left and Right Uprights (76, 77) as you set the console assembly on the Uprights. Be careful not to pinch the wires. 9 Console Assembly Attach the console assembly with four 5/16" x 1 1/2" Screws (4) and four 5/16" Star Washers (10). Start all four Screws, and then tighten them. 4 10 Wire 4 10 77 Wire 76 10. Identify the Left Handrail (78). Attach the Left Handrail to the console assembly with two 5/16" x 2" Screws (3) and two 5/16" Star Washers (10) as shown.
11. Tighten the four 3/8" x 2 3/4" Screws (9), and then tighten the four 3/8" x 1 1/4" Screws (7) (only one side is shown). 11 83 Press the Left and Right Base Covers (82, 83) onto the Base (90) until they snap into place. 82 9 7 90 12. Raise the Frame (53) to the position shown. Have a second person hold the Frame until this step is completed. 12 53 Orient the Storage Latch (56) so that the large barrel and the latch knob are in the positions shown.
13. Attach the upper end of the Storage Latch (56) to the Frame (53) with a 3/8" x 1 3/4" Bolt (5) and a 3/8" Nut (11). 13 53 11 5 56 14. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. If there are sheets of plastic on the treadmill decals, remove the plastic. To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill. Note: Extra parts may be included.
THE CHEST HEART RATE MONITOR HOW TO PUT ON THE HEART RATE MONITOR The heart rate monitor consists of a chest strap and a sensor. Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor as shown. Then, press the end of the sensor under the buckle on the chest strap. The tab should be flush with the front of the sensor.
HOW TO CONNECT THE POWER CORD Use a Surge Suppressor not plug other electrical devices, except for lowpower devices such as cell phone chargers, into the surge suppressor or into an outlet on the same circuit. IMPORTANT: The treadmill is not compatible with GFCI-equipped outlets and may not be compatible with AFCI-equipped outlets. Your treadmill, like other electronic equipment, can be damaged by sudden voltage changes in your home’s power.
HOW TO UPGRADE THE CONSOLE Your treadmill’s console has been preconfigured to operate with a digital TV (see the drawings below). To learn about the features of the console, see page 19. To learn about the features of the digital TV, see the user’s manual included with the digital TV. Note: The basic console has no television capabilities. To upgrade your console whenever you choose, please see the front cover of this manual.
CONSOLE OPERATION FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE access many other features. The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effective and enjoyable. When you use the manual mode, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button. As you exercise, the console will display instant exercise feedback. You can even measure your heart rate using the handgrip heart rate monitor or the chest heart rate monitor.
HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components. 1. Insert the key into the console. Plug in the power cord (see page 17). Next, locate the power switch on the treadmill frame near the power cord. Press the power switch into the reset position.
5. Follow your progress with the displays. The Calorie tab will show the approximate amount of calories you have burned. The height of each segment represents the amount of calories burned during that segment.
6. Measure your heart rate if desired. 7. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. Note: If you use the handgrip heart rate monitor and the chest heart rate monitor at the same time, the console will not display your heart rate accurately. For information about the chest heart rate monitor, see page 16. Step onto the foot rails, press the Stop button, and press the Quick Incline/Decline button labeled 0.
HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 20. 2. Select an onboard workout. To select an onboard workout, press the Calorie button, the Intensity button, the Speed button, or the Incline button repeatedly until the desired workout appears in the display. When you select an onboard workout, the display will show the duration, the distance, and the name of the workout.
HOW TO USE A SET-A-GOAL WORKOUT 6. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 20. HOW TO USE AN IFIT WORKOUT 2. Select a set-a-goal workout. To select a calorie, time, or distance set-a-goal workout, press the Set A Goal button on the console repeatedly. Next, press the increase and decrease buttons next to the Enter button to select a goal.
7. Measure your heart rate if desired. Note: Before some workouts will download, you must add them to your schedule on iFit.com. See step 6 on page 22. For more information about the iFit workouts, please see www.iFit.com. When you select an iFit workout, the display will show the duration of the workout, the distance you will walk or run, and the approximate number of calories you will burn. The display may also show the name of the workout.
HOW TO CHANGE CONSOLE SETTINGS Default Menu—The default menu will appear when you insert the key into the console or when you press the Home button. Press the Enter button repeatedly to select the manual main screen or the iFit screen as the default menu. The console features a settings mode that allows you to view usage information, to personalize console settings, and to set up and manage a wireless network connection. Firmware Update—For the best results, regularly check for firmware updates. 1.
Clear WiFi Setting—To erase the console’s wireless network settings and have it forget the currently selected wireless network, follow the instructions in the matrix. Press the up, down, left, and right buttons to highlight the desired letter or number. Then, press the Enter button to select the letter, number, or symbol. When you have finished entering the password, press the Done button. Contrast—To adjust the contrast level of the display, press the Incline increase and decreas buttons.
6. Use WiFi–Advanced to set up a wireless connection. Your browser will load a web page. If the web page does not appear, double-check the IP address and the previous instructions of this step. Follow the instructions on the web page to connect the treadmill to your wireless network. This option will allow you to set up a wireless network connection using your computer, smart phone, tablet, or other Wi-Fi device. Note: A warning may appear stating that the server cannot be identified.

Then, remove the key and unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 lbs. (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill. efore moving the treadmill, fold it as described at the B left. CAUTION: Make sure that the latch knob is locked in the storage position.
TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. c. Remove the key from the console, and then reinsert it. d. SYMPTOM: The power does not turn on SYMPTOM: The console displays remain lit when you remove the key from the console a.
Locate the Reed Switch (51) and the Magnet (50) on the left side of the Pulley (49). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed Switch is about 1/8 in. (3 mm). If necessary, loosen the #8 x 1/2" Tek Screw (13), move the Reed Switch slightly, and then retighten the Screw. Reattach the Motor Hood (not shown) and run the treadmill for a few minutes to check for a correct speed reading. Top View 13 49 51 1/8 in. 50 b.
SYMPTOM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on b. I f the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn both idler roller screws clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in. (5 to 7 cm) off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered.
EXERCISE GUIDELINES Burning Fat—To burn fat effectively, you must exercise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time. During the first few minutes of exercise, your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy. Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy. If your goal is to burn fat, adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone.
SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible. Hold for 15 counts, then relax. Repeat 3 times. Stretches: Hamstrings, back of knees and back. 1 2. Hamstring Stretch Sit with one leg extended.
