Furuno Sounders
1. Right-click on the track displayed on chart
2. Select in the contextual list: "Variable Color"
3. click on “Bottom Classification
Default colors used for the track display are those used on the Furuno equipment (NavNet 3D):
Mud : Blue
Sand : Yellow
Gravel : Orange
Rock : Red
The track color settings can be modified from the “Ship & Trackoption menu:
1. Click on the MaxSea button and choose Options...
2. click on the “Variable Color Setup” Button
3. select “Bottom Classification” from the pop-up menu
4. select the color you want to use for each bottom classification type.
Bottom hardness
MaxSea can also register the bottom hardness and display it using a color scale on the chart (similar to
the depth shading).
Register Bottom Hardness
If the BBDS1 sounder provides the information of the bottom hardness, click on the PBG
button to register this information as same time as it is done with the depth information.
Caution! the bottom hardness's information can be collected only when the depth information is
correctly received.
