Arcing is the microwave term for sparks in the oven. Arcing is caused by: ■ Metal, such as twist-ties, poultry pins, or gold-rimmed dishes, in the microwave. ■ Metal or foil touching the side of the oven. ■ Recycled paper towels containing small metal pieces being used in the microwave.
■ SUPERHEATED WATER Microwaved water and other liquids do not always bubble when they reach the boiling point. They can actually get superheated and not bubble at all. To prevent this from happening and causing injury, do not heat any liquid for more than 2 minutes per cup. After heating, let the cup stand in the microwave for 30 seconds before moving it or putting anything into it. ■ Do not overcook potatoes. They could dehydrate and catch fire, causing damage to your oven.

Press one of the Express Cook pads (from 1 to 6) for 1 to 6 minutes of cooking at power level 10. For example, press the 2 pad for 2 minutes of cooking time. Press AUTO/TIME DEFROST once for Auto Defrost or twice for Time Defrost. Use Auto Defrost for meat, poultry and fish. Use Time Defrost for most other frozen foods. Operating Instructions Auto Defrost automatically sets the defrosting times and power levels to give even defrosting results for meats, poultry and fish weighing up to six pounds.
