Using the
pan detection

This teature autonmticallv turns off a surfi_ce
unit atier 60 seconds if a pan is absent fl'om the
surtace trait. The power level display will flash
tmtil the s/u'thce trait is turned off when the
control detects the absence of a pan.
To activate mid deactivate pml detection for
all surface milts:
Touch tile [] (PAN) pad. (At least one
surface unit must be on.) Tile display will
flash "PAN ON" when tile pan detection
feature is on.
A signal will so/md and a light next to tile []
(PAN) pad will indicate whether the featm'e is
active. If the light is on, pan detection is on
and if the light is off, pan detection is off.
When tile pan detection feature is disabled,
tile pan sizing ti_at/u'e is also disabled.
SENSORS
NOTES:
For this teattu'e to work properl), tile pan
diameter must be greater than 4.0 inches and
centered on tile surtace trait.
This feature ina) not operate properly with
rounded, curxed or warped pan bottoms
(see tile Sel_ing _ypes(?t cookware section).
This featm'e will not work with glass cookware
(see tile 5'elcHing" lyp¢,s (_t _ool:war¢ section).
Using the
pan sizing
feature
This feature is only used on tile dual suriace
milts when the pan detection ti_amre is
enabled. When a small pan is placed on a dual
suriace trait, the small s/u'ihce trait will activate.
When a pan larger than 6.0 inches is placed on
a dual sm'iace unit, the large suriace unit will
a utoma tically a ctiva te. This ti_attu'e may be
overridden tot a single cooking session while
leaving the pan detection teature active (see
tile Dual slt@l_¢ unit section).
To turn off this feature and the pml detection
feature:
Touch the [] (PAN) pad.
The light next to the pad will go out, indicating
that pan features are turned off.
