Section 4: Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will improve performance and extend
engine/equipment life. Regular maintenance, replacement,
or repair of the emissions control devices and systems may
be performed by any repair shop or person of the owner’s
choosing. To obtain emissions control warranty service free

Table 3 – Maintenance Schedule

Accidental start-up. Before servicing or detangling, shut
down unit, allow to cool, remove keys, and disconnect spark
plug wire(s). Failure to do so could result in death, serious
injury, or equipment damage.

Personal injury. Mower blades are extremely sharp. Use
appropriate personal protective equipment when handling
and servicing blades, or use blade protection. Failure to do
so could result in death or serious injury.

Hot Surfaces. When operating machine, do not
touch hot surfaces. Keep machine away from
combustibles during use. Hot surfaces could
result in severe burns or fire.
Procedure Before Each Use Every 25 Hours Every 100 Hours
Verify operator presence switch function
Check engine oil level
Inspect general equipment condition
Check blade sharpness
Clean engine exterior and cooling fins
Inspect all belt tensions and condition
Brake maintenance
Lubricate grease fittings
Lubricate cables
Check tire pressures
Change engine oil and filter if equipped 1st time 5 hours
Verify battery charge
Inspect cable connections
Replace air filter and precleaner if equipped
Replace belt
Replace spark plug(s)
Replace fuel filter
