Operation using the handset
Activating/deactivating the answer machine

If the answer machine is switched on, the display shows the icon .
Playing back messages
¤ Press and hold the key ( Key 1 is allocated to the answer machine p. 29)
or
¤ MENU Answer Machine OK Play Messages OK
¤ If the network mailbox is set up: Answer Mach. OK
or
¤ MENU Messages OK Ans.Mach. OK
The answer machine list is shown as follows:
Number of new messages + number of old entries which have already been played back
If there are new messages, playback starts with the first new message, otherwise with the first
old message.
A message consists of two parts:
an info block, consisting of the number, date, time and
the content (spoken text).
First the info block is played, then the content. The display shows the caller's number or the
ca
ller's name.
Switching off call screening for the current recording:
¤ Press the End call key .
If the memory is full, the display shows Memory full! and the answer machine
switches off automatically. Delete old messages so that it switches on again
automatically.
Gigaset A270A only: The handset loudspeaker switches on automatically.
Switch off the loudspeaker:
Press the Handsfree key
