Assembly Instructions: 3218-S/L & 3219-S/L (Dixon)
IMPORTANT:
• ALL INSTALLATION WORK SHOULD BE DONE BY ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL.
• SHUT OFF POWER SUPPLY AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER!
• USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED BULBS. DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE!
PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
Remove all of the contents from the carton. See the important notes
above. Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and completely remove
theoldxturefromtheceiling,includingtheoldmountingstrap.
1.Takethemountingstrapassemblyfromthepartsbag.Mountingstrap
(B)shouldhavemountingscrews(D)attached.Youmayneedtotighten
hex nuts (C) that hold the screws in place.
2.Usemountingscrews(A)andascrewdrivertoattachmountingstrap
(A) to the junction box.
ASSEMBLING THE FIXTURE
3. Rods (K) are on the xture’s wires. By measuring, determine the
correct number of rods needed for proper hanging height. There are
three optional 12 inch rods and one 6 inch rod (J) included.
Tolengthenthexture,addadditionalrods.Ifadditionalrodsareneeded,
contact the place of purchase to order.
Toshortenthexture,addatleast8to10inchesofwiretothedesired
lengthandtrimthewires.Slideanyexcessrodsoffthexture’swires
to discard.
4.Pullthewirestautthroughtherodsbeforethreadingtherodstogether.
Threadbottomrod(J)ontopost(M)atthecenterofthexture’sbody.
5. Twist the top rod (J or K) into the threads of swivel post (I) of canopy
(F).Locktherod(s)intothecanopybytwistingthumbscrew(G).Pullthe
xture’swiresthroughthetopofcanopy(F)toconnectwiththehouse
wires.
CLEANING TIPS
Treat the xture gently! Regular cleaning will reduce the need for deep cleaning. For regular cleaning, turn off the light and wipe down the
xture with a clean lint-free cotton or microber cloth. Never spray cleaner directly onto the xture.

CONNECTING THE WIRES
6.Haveanassistantsupporttheweightofthexturewhilecompleting
the wiring. Cut away excess wire. Thread the xture’s wires through
canopyloop(H)andnipple(F).Attachthexture’swirestothepower
supply wires from the junction box. Connect black to black (or smooth);
whitetowhite(orribbed);groundtoground(greenorcopper).Twistthe
endsofthewirepairstogether,andthentwistonawireconnector.Make
surealltwistsareinthesamedirection.Ifthereisnogroundwire(green
or copper)coming fromthe junction box,locate groundscrew (E)on
mountingstrap(A)andwrapthexture’sgroundwirearoundthegreen
groundscrew(E).Useascrewdrivertosecuregroundscrew(E)ontothe
mountingbracket.Tuckallwiresneatlyintothejunctionbox.
FINISHING THE INSTALLATION
7.Raisecanopy(F)totheceiling.Positionmountingscrews(D)sothattheyprotrudethroughtheopeningsofcanopy(F).Securecanopy
(F)tomountingstrap(B)withdecorativenuts(H).
8. Installalightbulb(notprovided)inaccordancewiththexture’sspecications.Donotexceedthemaximumrecommended
wattage.
9.Loosenbolt(M)andraiselid(N)tothehighestposition.Tiltthelampandrodsslightly,andthenpassthelampthrough
decorativecap(O)andintoglassshade(P).Then,placedecorativecap(O)andlid(N)ontopofglassshade(P).Movethelampand
rodsintoaverticalposition.Checkthateverythingislevelandsecuretheassemblybytighteningbolt(M).
Yourinstallationiscomplete.Turnonthepowerandtestthexture.
