Sharpening the cutting teeth
Have the saw chain sharpened by a
specialist, or proceed in accordance with
the operating manual for your saw chain
sharpening device. Sharpening a saw
chain requires some practice. Replac-
ing the saw chain is preferable in case of
doubt.
Changing the saw chain
Never attach a new saw chain onto
worn teeth, or onto a damaged or
worn blade bar.

Servicing the blade bar
The blade bar has to be reversed every

Cleaning
Do not use any solvents or petrol
for cleaning. This could damage
the device.
Clean the surface, ventilation slits and
handles on the device using a dry
cloth, paintbrush or hand brush.
Only wipe the saw chain dry. After
cleaning, apply a small amount of
chain oil to the saw chain.
Apply individual drops of oil on the
joints and on the tooth tips of the indi-
vidual chain links.
Maintenance
Before each use, check the equipment
for obvious defects such as lose, worn
or damaged parts. Check that all nuts,

Check coverings and safety devices for
damage and correct seating. Replace
these where necessary.
Keep the ventilation slots and motor
housing of the device clean. Use a
damp cloth or a brush to do this. Do
not wash down the equipment with wa-
ter, or submerge it in water.
Do not use any cleaning agents or sol-
vents. These could cause irreparable
damage to the equipment. Chemical
substances can attack the plastic parts
of the equipment.
