Instructions / Assembly

Coverage
Approximately 100 sq. ft. per 1 gallon, applied as two coats.
Surface Preparation
1. Clean Surface must be clean, dry and sound. Sweep or rinse to clear dust, dirt and residues. Scrub areas where water
ponds with detergent and water and rinse well. For newly-applied asphalt emulsion, proceed as soon as it has cured,
normally 1-7 days.
2. Repair: Inspect area to be coated. Repair all cracks, splits, and holes by layering Henry 296 ElastoTape® Repair
Fabric between 2 heavy coats of Henry 289 White Roofing Sealant - Elastomeric and allow to form a skin and set up -
from 2 to 24 hours, depending on depth of fill and weather conditions - before coating. Tighten fasteners on metal roofs.
Seal fasteners and seams with Henry 289 White Roofing Sealant - Elastomeric and allow to cure.
Application
3. Apply: Seal leaks prior to application. Apply on a sunny day when roof surface is warm to the touch. Surface may be
dry or slightly damp, but not wet. If the roof surface is too hot to touch (>140ºF/60ºC), it is too hot to coat. Stir coating
thoroughly and apply with heavy duty sprayer or a deep-pile paint roller with wood handle and metal threads, keeping
strokes in one direction. Apply directly to mineral surface cap sheet (conventional, SBS or APP torch down), roofs
previously coated with white or aluminum which has weathered, or asphalt emulsion. For older roofs, previously
uncoated metal, smooth surface (not granule surfaced) SBS and APP modified bitumen membranes, and thoroughly
cured solvent based black asphalt coatings or hot-mopped asphalt, apply Henry 107 Asphalt Emulsion Sealer and
Dampproofer
first and allow to dry completely before coating.
4. Recoat: Apply second coat when first is dry, preferably on the same day. For large roofs, apply two coats to one
section per day. Apply second coat at right angles to first coat.
Precautions
DO NOT THIN. DO NOT APPLY IF RAIN, DEW OR TEMPERATURES BELOW 50ºF (10ºC) ARE EXPECTED WITHIN
48-72 HOURS. Do not heat container or store at temperatures greater than 120ºF (49ºC). When transporting this
product, be sure the pail is secured and the lid is tight to prevent spills. DO NOT ALLOW COATING IN PAIL TO
FREEZE. Not recommended over plywood, walking decks, gravel, uncoated polyurethane foam, rubber or PVC sheet
roofing, shingles of any kind, or old roofs that are too dry and brittle to withstand the shrinkage stresses that occur after
the application of any coating. In areas with frequent ice and snow, apply over mineral surface cap sheet only. Wear
sunglasses when applying in the sun.
NOTE: Do not apply this coating over surfaces which will be subjected to ponding water conditions. Use Henry 176
Pond Patch® to provide positive slope in these areas and allow to cure completely before coating.
Cleanup
Remove wet coating with soap and water. If dry, use paint remover.
