1.2.6 Installation temperature and service temperature
The installation temperatureisthetemperatureatwhichtheS-BTstudsarein-
stalled.Adistinctionismadebetweenthetemperatureofthebasematerialandthe
temperatureoftheS-BTstuds,drillingandinstallationtoolsandaccessories.The
installationtemperaturerangecanbefoundinthetablebelow.
The service temperatureisthetemperatureatwhichtheS-BTstudsoperate.The
S-BTstudswilloperateeffectivelyandwithoutanylossinperformance(loads,
sealingfunction,etc.)withinthespeciedservicetemperaturerange.Outsidethis
temperaturerangetheS-BTstudsmayfail.

1.3 Fastening mechanism
TheS-BTfastenerwillbescrewedinintoapre-drilledhole.Thethreadedstudis
tappingitsowninternalmatingthreadswheninstalledintobasematerial.TheS-BT
fastenersareanchoredinthebasematerialbywayofakeyingeffect,i.e.self-tap-
pingscrewsformathreadinthebasematerial.Thegroundcross-sectionsofan
S-BTfastenerinsteelshowsthethreadofthefastenerengagedwiththebase
material.
