Chapter 2: Description of System Components

2.1 Tubing

The HOME-FLEX® fuel gas piping system employs corrugated, exible, semi-rigid stainless

steel tubing with brass attachment ttings terminating in NPT pipe ttings for integration

into traditional rigid black pipe systems or direct connection to gas systems. Tubing is avail-

able in sizes of ½", ¾", and 1".

HOME-FLEX® tubing is jacketed with a yellow polyethylene cover clearly marked with gas

pressure rating, and EHD* (Equivalent Hydraulic Diameter). Tubing is available in lengths of

25 (½" and ¾" only), 75, 150 (1" only), and 250-feet (½" and ¾" only).

* EHD (Equivalent Hydraulic Diameter): a relative measure of ow capacity. A higher EHD value indicates

greater ow capacity of pipe.
