Installation Guide
Cleaning the Binding
1. For roune maintenance of our woven fabric bindings (canvas and linen), simply vacuum the edge finish as explained above.
2. If excessive soiling or spills occur on the binding, use cleaning soluons which are available from rug store or dealers.
Mold & Mildew Growth
1. Natural fiber floor coverings, like Seagrass, are derived from plant fibers and are therefore inherently absorbent.
2. Exposure to the elements and changes in humidity levels can potenally create an environment for the growth of mold or mildew.
3. If mold or mildew persists, your seng is probably too humid for the use of your rug.
Mold and Mildew Removal
1. Mix one part liquid chlorine bleach with six parts water in a spray mist bole.
a. Test the mixture by spraying a lile in a corner of the rug. Do not let the bleach mixture touch the binding!
b. If bleaching occurs, dilute the soluon and re-test unl it is safe to use.
2. Mist the soluon lightly on the moldy area, using a so brush to work it down into the weave to reach all the mold growth.
3. Aer five or ten minutes rub the area with a clean, dry cloth.
4. Repeat if necessary.
5. Dry the rug thoroughly using a hair dryer on the damp spot if required.
Curled Corners or Stretched Marks on Face
Uneven foot traffic or humidity changes can cause the corner to curl or the face to show stretch marks. Rotate the rugs regularly or change the
pattern of traffic if possible; or try dampening the affected area and weighting it down overnight. Be careful to minimize moisture exposure and
duration to prevent mildew growth. If severely affected, it might be necessary to repeat this process.
