PRE-OPERATION CHECK
To carry out this series of checks, place the generating set on stable and horizontal
ground, with the engine off. Be careful not to touch the hot metallic parts of the engine
when checking the oil level.
CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL
CAUTION:
•
The engine oil is an important factor which affects the engine’s performance and its
operational life.
•
Running the engine with insufficient oil can seriously damage the engine.
Use good quality and high detergent oil for Diesel engines, classed API CC or CD. SAE 10W40
oil is recommended for general use at all temperatures, but it is suggested that a viscosity
appropriate to the average temperature in the area of use is chosen from the table.
1. Remove the oil filler cap [1] and wipe the dipstick [2] with a clean cloth.
2. Insert the dipstick in the oil filler tube [3] without screwing it.
3. If the level is too low, top up with the recommended oil to the top of the oil filler tube.
