MAINTENANCE
SPARK ARRESTER
If the generating set has just been in operation, the muffler will still be very hot. Let it
cool before proceeding with this operation.
CAUTION :
• Poor compliance with the recommended frequency of maintaining the spark arrester can
lead to serious damage to the engine.
ECMT7000
1. Undo the 6 screws maintaining the left side plate and remove the plate (see page 18).
2. Loosen and remove the 4 mm screw [2].
3. Using a screwdriver, remove the spark arrester [1].
4. Use a wire brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark arrester screen and check
that it is not damaged.
5. Reassemble the spark arrester and the screw [2].
ECM2800
NOTE: we recommend that maintenance of the spark arrester be entrusted to an authorized
Honda dealer.
1. Remove the 5 x 6 mm screws [3] and the muffler
protector [4].
2. Remove:
- the 2 x 8 mm bolts [5],
- the 2 x 8 mm screws [6],
- the muffler [7].
- the gasket [8].
NOTE:
Replace the gasket if is damaged.
3. Extract the spark arrester [1].
4. Use a wire brush to remove carbon deposits from
the spark arrester screen and check that it is not
damaged.
5. Make sure that the gasket is correctly installed [8] and reassemble the elements in
reverse order to disassembly. Tighten the screws correctly.
