Debris Shields
Always use the correct debris shield when operating the trimmer. In
addition to safety concerns, it can cause an overload to the clutch due
to excessive line length. Clutch failure due to running the trimmer
without a shield installed is not covered under warranty.
A variety of blades are available from your Honda trimmer servicing
dealer. Always use the debris shield designed for use with a blade
when attaching a blade to your trimmer. The blade type debris shield
does not have a cutoff knife.
Inspect the shield for excessive wear, damage, or looseness before
each use. If the shield is damaged, it must be replaced.
.
Changing the Debris Shield
Refer to the applicable illustration for removing and installing the
debris shields. Tighten the spacer bolts/washers to the specified
torque.
