Electric starter

Try known good
electrical outlet.
Start engine by
using the recoil
starter.
Try another power
cord. Start engine
by using the recoil
starter.
No electric current
from outlet.
Defective power
cord.
Check throttle
position and choke.
Check fuel delivery
to engine.
Check fuel
condition.
Check for spark.
Check electrical
outlet.
Check power cord.
Throttle not in
proper position.
Fuel valve is OFF.
Sediment cup
obstructed.
Stale or old fuel.
Spark plug cap
off.
Improper electrode
gap or deposits in
the spark plug
gap.
Throttle must be in
FAST position,
choke OFF for a
hot start, choke ON
for a cord start
(page23).
Turn fuel valve to
ON(page22).
Check for
contaminates in
sediment cup
(page55).
Be sure tank has
fresh fuel.
Drain carburetor
and sediment cup
(page55).
Make sure cap is
connected.
Verify that spark
plug is free of
deposits, and has
proper gap (page
46 ).
