2 Startup and operation

This chapter provides the procedures necessary to continue installation and startup of your Enterprise

Figure 1 0 shows how the storage system is c onnected to other components of the storage solution.

• The control

ler pair connects to two FC fabrics, to which the hosts also connect.

• Command View EVA, through the Storage Management Appliance, also connects to the fabric.

• The controller pair connects to t wo loop p airs, which connect to the drive enclosures. Each loop

pair consi

sts of two loops that run independently, but will run for the other loop if a failure occurs.
