Reverse this procedure to install the WWAN module.
RTC battery

RTC battery 651948-001
Before removing the RTC battery, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 51).
5. Remove the service access cover (see
Service access cover on page 52).
Remove the RTC battery:

Disconnect the RTC battery cable (1) from the system board and remove the RTC battery (2).
NOTE: You may need to remove some double-sided adhesive.
Reverse this procedure to install the RTC battery.
Optical drive
NOTE: The upgrade bay supports both optical drives and hard drives. If you switch from a hard
drive to an optical drive in the upgrade bay, you will need to remove four additional screws that
secure the hard drive carrier.
