Installing and Registering Plug-ins
4. Click Next, and then click Finish. The plug-in files are removed from the
computer.
NOTE: If you uninstall the SRM Agent from a computer, it automatically removes all plug-ins
installed on that computer.
Registering a Plug-In
Once you have installed a plug-in, you are ready to register it with the SRM Server so
that it can be scanned and reported on. Each plug-in provided with SRM includes a
registration utility called the Plug-In Registration Wizard. The wizard takes you
through the steps required to register an unmanaged object with an SRM Server.
This section contains general information that applies to all Plug-In Registration
Wizards. For detailed registration information about a particular plug-in, refer to
sections at the end of this chapter or to the Readme file included in the same directory
(on the CD-ROM) as the plug-in installation executable file.
Running the Plug-In Registration Wizard
You can run the Plug-In Registration Wizard in one of the following ways:
At the end of a plug-in installation, on the Installation Complete dialog box, select
the check box labeled Run the registration utility to register this plug-in with the
SRM Server.
If you select this option, the installation procedure runs the Plug-In Registration
Wizard for you before exiting.
Click the Start > Programs > Storage Resource Manager Plug-In Registration, and
select the particular plug-in that you want to register.
NOTE: You must run the Plug-In Registration Wizard once for each unmanaged object that you
want to register with the SRM Server.
To register an unmanaged object:
1. Launch the Plug-In Registration Wizard. The Introduction dialog box displays, as
shown in Figure 6–1.
