Installing and Registering Plug-ins
Proxy Agent Name — This is the name of the SRM Agent computer where
you installed the plug-in.
NOTE: The SRM Agent computer named in this field must be a managed computer on the
SRM Server with which you want to register the object.
SRM Display Name — This is the name by which the SRM Server knows the
managed object, and it displays in all SRM reports.
This box is automatically filled in with the name you entered in the Host
Name box. However, you can change or edit the entry if necessary.
This name must be unique for a given type of object. For example, there
cannot be two managed objects named MySANSwitch in the SAN switch
category.
Community — This is the SNMP community name to use for connecting to a
SAN switch, a SmartArray controller, or a Filer.
This field is not displayed if you are registering a NetWare server or an
HSG80-based RAID subsystem.
8. If you want to provide additional information to be included in SRM reports, click
Optional Information. The Optional Registration Information dialog box displays,
as shown in Figure 6–4. Proceed to step 10.

To complete the registration process, click Finish. Go to step 9.
NOTE: For the NetWare and NetApp plug-ins, click Next. Additional dialog boxes are displayed.

and “NetApp Plug-In” at the end of this chapter or refer to the Readme file that comes with these
plug-ins.
9. Type data in the fields you want to fill in and click OK.
NOTE: This screen is optional. You do not have to fill in any fields to proceed.
