6–20 Storage Resource Manager Enterprise Edition
Installing and Registering Plug-ins
4. Next to the RAID option, click Modify. The Modify Scan Settings for RAID
dialog box displays.
5. In the Select a managed object list box, choose the RAID subsystem you want to
modify, and make the necessary changes.
You can change the following setting:
• Computer Scan Agent — Enter the name of a managed SRM Agent computer that
has the correct plug-in installed on it. If you select an SRM 4.0B Agent computer
that does not have the correct plug-in installed, all computer scans for the selected
RAID subsystem fail.
Compaq SmartArray Plug-In
This section provides additional information about installing and registering a
Compaq SmartArray Plug-In.
Plug-In Prerequisites
• The SRM 4.0B Windows NT/Windows 2000 Agent must be installed on the
computer.
• SNMP service must be active on the computer where the Compaq SmartArray
controller that you want to scan is installed.
• The following Compaq Management Agents must be installed:
— Drive Array Information
— System Information
— Fibre Information (for Fibre Channel-based SmartArray controllers)
— SCSI Information (for SCSI-based SmartArray controllers)
Before you Register this Plug-In
The Plug-In Registration Wizard prompts you for the following information; organize
it beforehand to save time:
• The network name of the system on which is installed the SmartArray controller
that you want to scan. This is the TCP/IP network name required by the SRM
Agent to locate and communicate with that system. You might need to use a fully
qualified DNS name. If you can issue a ping command from the SRM Agent
computer, then the name works.
