Installing and Registering Plug-ins
4. Next to the RAID option, click Modify. The Modify Scan Settings for RAID
dialog box displays.
5. In the Select a managed object list box, choose the RAID subsystem you want to
modify, and make the necessary changes.
You can change the following setting:
Computer Scan Agent — Enter the name of a managed SRM Agent computer that
has the correct plug-in installed on it. If you select an SRM 4.0B Agent computer
that does not have the correct plug-in installed, all computer scans for the selected
RAID subsystem fail.
Compaq SmartArray Plug-In
This section provides additional information about installing and registering a
Compaq SmartArray Plug-In.
Plug-In Prerequisites
The SRM 4.0B Windows NT/Windows 2000 Agent must be installed on the
computer.
SNMP service must be active on the computer where the Compaq SmartArray
controller that you want to scan is installed.
The following Compaq Management Agents must be installed:
Drive Array Information
System Information
Fibre Information (for Fibre Channel-based SmartArray controllers)
SCSI Information (for SCSI-based SmartArray controllers)
Before you Register this Plug-In
The Plug-In Registration Wizard prompts you for the following information; organize
it beforehand to save time:
The network name of the system on which is installed the SmartArray controller
that you want to scan. This is the TCP/IP network name required by the SRM
Agent to locate and communicate with that system. You might need to use a fully
qualified DNS name. If you can issue a ping command from the SRM Agent
computer, then the name works.
