A
Database Concepts
SRM creates one database where all of your SRM data is maintained. When you
install the SRM server, you have the ability to specify the database space allocation
for your SRM data.
SRM, SQL Server, and IIS
You can configure SRM with SQL Server and IIS in one of the following ways:
Configuration 1
Computer 1: SQL Server
Computer 2: SRM Server, IIS Server
The Web browser can be installed on any computer.
In this configuration, computers 1 and 2 can be in different domains. The SRM
Service User Account (SRMSvcUser by default) must be defined in a domain with at
least a one-way trust relationship with the domain(s) of computer 1 and computer 2.
See section Domain Planning in Chapter 1 for more information about setting up
SRM in multiple Windows NT/Windows 2000 security domains.
Configuration 2
Computer 1: SQL Server, SRM Server, IIS Server
The Web browser can be installed on any computer.
Database Sizing
When you install SRM, you can use the installation programs database sizing tool to
calculate the initial maximum size in MB of your SRM SQL Server database.
Modifying the default values for the listed settings dynamically changes the value in
the Calculated Database Size field.
