SRM Troubleshooting Guide
Introduction
This appendix is designed to help anyone who will be installing and/or supporting
SRM to determine and debug any encountered problems.
SRM Server Installation
SRM Server consists of the following actions:
Checking for prerequisite products and settings.
Creating the SRM Database.
Configuring SQL Server Security to allow SRM Service account access to the
SRM Database.
Creating the SRM Service Login Account (default SRMSvcUser) on the SRM
Server.
Installing an agent (if desired) to manage the server on which SRM is running.
(Agents for other managed NT systems can be installed through the Remote
Install interface.)
Creating of appropriate IIS Web Pages.
Configuring Microsoft Transaction Server (MTX).
SRM Service Account
When specifying the SRM Service account, be sure to use an account that will be
permanent. Do not use a temporary account that will be changed at a later time.
Changing the service account will cause all agent scans to fail. Also be sure to set the
password for the service account to Never Expires as changing this password will
cause IIS/MTX to break.
