Storage Resource Manager Enterprise Edition Installation Guide

C2 Storage Resource Manager Enterprise Edition
SRM Troubleshooting Guide
SRM Directories and Log Files
The Installation process creates SRM, StorageResourceManager, and
SRMScanWeb virtual directories in IIS if these options are selected.
Log files are located in the \Program files\Storage Resource Manager directory and
are useful for determining why an install has failed:
SRMAgentInstall.log
Install.log
SRMServerInstall.log
SRMCoreinstall.log
SRMProcMgrInstall.log
SRMShortcutInstall.log
Srm_PostMortem<date>.log
Also, in the Temp Directory, the following log files may be present:
SRMDBCRESRMDB_<Machine_name>.log
SRMDBCVT<Machine_name>_SRMDB
Known Issues
The following problems are known issues that you may encounter during an SRM
Server installation:
Database Creation Fails
If you are doing a fresh SRM install and want to create a new database, verify that
there are no existing database files under \Mssql7\Data\ called
SRMDB_<MachineName>.dat. If the database files exist, you must first delete
them. If you get an error when trying to delete the database files, stating that they
are in use, you must delete them from within SQL Enterprise Manager.
If you want to keep the existing database and install SRM to use that database, you
have to have an ODBC DSN name pointing to the database. Create a System DSN
in ODBC called SRMDB and point it to the existing SRM Database. This will
cause the installation to use the existing database and upgrade it if necessary.
