SRM Troubleshooting Guide
Install Fails Immediately With Permission Error
The account you specified when running the install script in the GUI does not have
Local Administrator rights on the agent. Rerun the job and be sure to specify an
account with these rights.
Install Fails When You Select Submit After Inputting All Install
Information
The SRM Server Service Account is not a member of the Local Administrators group
on the SRM Server machine. This account MUST be in the Local Admin group for a
number of reasons, and should not be removed. The SRM Server Service Account is
configured when you install the SRM Server.
Install Fails, Stating that the Machine Cannot Be Contacted
Verify that you entered the machine name correctly. Also verify that you can resolve
the machine name and that the machine can resolve the SRM Server name.
UNIX Agent Install
SRM UNIX Agents must be installed locally from the UNIX machine. The
“registersrm” script under “./srmagent” can be run to correct problems in registering
with SRM. Until the registration is complete, SRM will be unable to scan the agent.
Known Issues
The following problems are known issues that you may encounter during an UNIX
Agent installation:
register_server: URLGet failed: Connection Refused
The wrong name for the SRM server was entered. The SRM Server name may be
misspelled.
The IIS and/or SRM is not operational on SRM Server.
Connection to SRM Server <SRMServerName> failed code 401: Access
Denied
The wrong password was entered for the SRM Service Login Account. (Note that it is
case sensitive!)
