Storage Resource Manager Enterprise Edition Installation Guide

C12 Storage Resource Manager Enterprise Edition
SRM Troubleshooting Guide
The user account that is being used to access the SRM UI via a Web browser must
have access to the SRM Web directory:
\Inetpub\wwwroot\StorageResourceManager\
and all of its subdirectories. By default EVERYONE has Full Access to this directory.
If this is removed, individual access will need to be granted. An Access Denied
browser error is returned to you if you do not have access.
The Options tab on the SRM UI is controlled by the login account of the user
accessing the SRM Web. Each users login should be added to the local group on the
SRM Server machine, SRMAdmin.
Determining the Versions
A key issue in reporting problems is identifying the version of the software
components. In all cases, versions are in the following format:
W.X.Y.Z
Where:
W is the major version identifier
X is the minor version identifier
Y is the patch level identifier
Z is the build number
Determining the SRM Version
1. Right click on one of the .exe files under \Program Files\Storage Resource
Manager.
2. Select Properties and select the Version tab. File Version and Product Version
should be the same value. You should check multiple files. If there are mixed
versions you may have a corrupt installation, reinstall SRM to fix the problem.
Obtaining the Version of the SRM UNIX Agent
1. Enter the following at the UNIX shell command prompt:
./srmagent/srmagent -ver
The version will be displayed on STDOUT.
